Silambarasan starrer Osthi directed by Dharani is all set for a grand release on December 8. Reliance Entertainment has confirmed the news.
Earlier, there were reports that Tamil Nadu Film Exhibitors Association (TFEA) has put a red card on Osthi since the satellite rights of the movie were sold to Sun TV who had dues for their earlier ventures. However, a press report was released by few associations heads that neither of the associations had any issues with Osthi release. The press note was signed by SA Chandrasekar, Kalaipuli G Sekaran, Jayakumar, Abirami Ramanathan and Sathya Seelan.
Osthi is the remake of Salman Khan’s Dabangg that has Richa Gangopadhyay as STR love interest while Sonu Sood as baddie. Mallika Sherawat has sizzled for an item number Kalasala in the film.

Nassar joins Mugamoodi cast
Jeeva’s new super hero adventure film Mugamoodi to be directed by Mysskin will commence regular shoot from the second week of December in Chennai. Mugamoodi is being produced by UTV Motion Pictures on a grand scale.
Pooja Hedge is zeroed in for the leading lady role in the movie while Narain will play the negative lead in the film. Now, Nassar has joined the cast of Mugamoodi. The actor will be seen in a powerful cop role in the film. K is zeroed in to score the tunes for the film. Reports reveal Nassar is quite happy with the script and his role in the film.
Since it’s a superhero film, the makers have started working on Jeeva’s look in the film and they have roped in Hong Kong based technicians for the Super hero costumes design. Both Jeeva and the antagonist Narain had undergone Kung-fu training for three months for Mugamoodi.

3 audio launch in mid December
After taking nation by storm with the Kolaveri Di song launch, the makers of 3 are planning to launch the entire 3 album in mid December. Actor Dhanush along with the music director Anirudh are promoting the film currently in Mumbai. Also, the mixing works for the other songs of 3 are being carried out in Mumbai studio.
Dhanush has also asked his fans on the micro-blogging site on who should release the 3 audio. “Mid December get ready for 3 audio launch. So guys, whom do you think should release the audio? How do u think the audio function should happen?," tweeted Dhanush.

After the Sun Pictures has opted out of Vikram starrer Rajapattai from marketing the film, Gemini Film Circuit (GFC) now seemed to be backed out of the film, who was supposed to distribute the film.

Director Lingusamy’s forthcoming film Vettai produced by UTV Motion Pictures is scheduled for a grand release for Pongal. Meanwhile, the makers are planning to launch the single track of Vettai scored by Yuvan Shankar Raja on December 12.

Nanban logo to beat 3 Idiots Logo
Whatever happens in the camp of director Shankar’s film will be instant headlines and every one are keen to know the status updates of the film.
Nanban with the top young heroes of Kollywood has turned out to be no exception. The latest update flowing out of the 'Nanban' camp is that Shankar has come out with a creative image for his film. The image more or less looked like a logo for the film and this image which brings Vijay, Jeeva and Srikanth in a unique look will surely be a hit with the movie goers.
Vijay took the central position the image while Jeeva and Srikanth are on his either sides. All the three stars have adorned a crown and decked in jewellery all inclusive of the 'kundalas' (ear rings), necklaces and vanky (for their biceps). To showcase a modern look they were given in T-shirts. In fact Shankar is planning to beat out the Bollywood image where the lead stars were seen sitting in specially customized chairs.
So, this image will surely waves in the tinsel town and director Shankar’s plan of making it is simply brilliant according to the taste of Tamil audiences.

Velayudham audio launched
lIayathalapathy Vijay is getting ready for the Velayudham audio launch to be held in Madurai on Sunday (August 28) afternoon.
The star is very happy to have met Anna Hazare in Ramlila Maidan on Thursday.
Vijay will take the afternoon flight from Chennai to Madurai on Sunday. In Madurai airport he will be given a red carpet reception.
The star will be taken in a convoy of 150 cars from Madurai airport to the venue at CSI Ground in Pudhur, a suburb of Madurai around 4pm.
Vijay’s dad SA Chandrasekar has announced at a press conference held on Friday that the actor will announce various welfare schemes implemented by VMI. Later sewing machines will be gifted to the poor and needy.
Vijay will introduce the cast and crew of the film like director Jayam Ravi and the heroines Genelia, Hansika and Saranya Mohan. Vijay Antony will perform live all the songs from the film.

Genelia D'Souza who had acted opposite Vijay in Sachin was chosen for the role of a journalist in the film, and Hansika Motwani was chosen to portray Vijay's love interest, while Saranya Mohan would play sister to Vijay's character. Hollywood stunt director Tom Delmar joined the crew for choreographing the stunts in the film. Vijay even walked out of S. Shankar's Nanban reasoning that the two films demanded two completely different looks and he couldn't afford to lose his commitment towards his films.However, he joined in the shooting of the film later as the scenes starring the main hero were reserved to be shot in a later schedule. Santhanam and M. S. Baskar were chosen to play the comedy lead in the film. Vijay donated 100 cows to poor people in Udumalapet near Coimbatore as per Hindu tradition to pray for the success of the film.
The film has been widely reported to be a remake of the 2000 Telugu film Azad that starred late Soundarya as a journalist and Akkineni Nagarjuna as a villager, incidentally the roles essayed by Genelia D'Souza and Vijay, respectively.Director M. Raja claims that it's not a remake, but his own story.

Mankatha Release Date
Thala’s Mankatha is gearing up for its release as the post production works and other technical works are going on a brisk pace.The producer of the film Dhayanidhi Alagiri has disclosed that Mankatha is going to see a worldwide release with subtitles. Apart from India the film will simultaneously release in Singapore, Malaysia, Sri Lanka, whole of the Gulf, UK, USA, whole of Europe, Canada & Australia. The film is running high on expectations as the plot of the film deals with Mafia gang gambling during the Indian Premier League (IPL) cricket season.
As the date of the release is nearing Thala fans expectations are just skyrocketing. So, Thala fans who are living out the country can take a breath as the film is seeing a worldwide release. Music which was launched recently did a record breaking sales and Sony Music is all happy for the response.

Vettai Mannan Delayed
It looks like Simbu’s next project with director Nelson is going to be delayed. The team is currently undergoing a difficult situation as they are still need to finalize two more heroines in this 3 - heroine film.Recently the unit has wrapped the second schedule where the some action scenes between the lead pair Simbu and Deeksha Seth were shot. It is known that Simbu is keen in roping in Anushka to play in one of the roles but the actress is unable to cater her call sheets as of now. They have even gone on to approach Kareena Kapoor but she has scared them away with the sky-high price as her remuneration. So, this has put the director and STR to continue their hunt for heroines. Buzz is that they are looking for a top Bollywood babe or maybe a foreign import may join the team.
In all probabilities, the film will begun only when the female leads are finalized which is expected to be only in November.
Currently Vettai Mannan holds Simbu, Deeksha Seth in the lead roles while Jai, Poonam Kaur and Santhanam play other pivotal roles.

UTV starts Muran Movie promotions
UTV has started promoting their first production Muran.Special programmes on Muran will appear in three Tamil channels on Independence Day (Aug 15).
Ads have appeared in today’s newspapers saying it is a UTV MotionPictures presentation produced by Ronnie Screwvala.
The audio of the film will be launched through Saregama at a private function on a popular music channel.
Muran was originally produced by Cheran’s Dream Theatres, before the Mumbai based corporate took over the project.
The film has been directed by Rajan Madhav and has Cheran and Prasanna in the lead along with Nikita Thukral, Haripriya and Jayaprakash.
UTV is promoting the Muran scheduled to release on September 1 as “the first engaging road movie”. It is said to have peppy songs by Saajan Madhav, brother of the director of the film.
