Censor Board Give ' A ' certificate to Aayirathil Oruvan

According to sources in the Censor Board, Selvaraghavan’s magnum opus Aayirathil Oruvan is likely to get an ‘A’ certificate for its “violence in the second half”!

However Selva and producer R Raveendran are refusing to accept the ‘A’ tag. There was a heated argument between the censor officials and the makers over the certification.

Selva is willing to settle for a ‘UA’ certificate, but the board says that he will then have to “trim the blood and gore in the second half”.

The producers have no time to go to the Revising Committee (RC) as the film is scheduled for a January 14 release and theatres have already been booked.

As per the grapevine the “highlight of the film is its war scene in the climax which is superbly executed, and if scenes are chopped it will rob the film of its story line and essence.”

Those who saw the film are raving about it, and say “the grandeur and the fast paced narration, performances of Karthi, Reema and Parthipan and the shot composition of Selvaraghavan and cameraman Ramji are awesome.”

So in all probability Selvaraghavan and producer R Raveendran will accept the film being given an ‘A’ certificate and get on with their preparation to give final polishing touches to AO, which has now become the hottest movie for Pongal.
