The launch puja of Vision X Media’s Nandi was also the venue of the weddings of 5 Sri Lankan Tamil couples. The novel idea was lauded by all present. Several Kollywood couples like KS Ravikumar and wife, Editor Mohan and wife, director Ezhil, Bhagyaraj and wife and others were invited to bless the five couples after which the puja of the film was performed. Other guests included Tarun Gopi, Santhosh, Baradwaj (who has composed the music for the film), Pandiraj, Karu Palaniappan and the lead pair Akhil and Sanusha.
Tamilvaanan, director of the film said, “We wanted to postpone the puja due to the tragic death of the Andhra CM but we did not want to postpone the muhurtham of these couples as it is considered inauspicious. So we went ahead. We took special care and planning to get permission from the authorities to conduct these weddings. We want the blessings of all and we hope it will set a trend for others to undertake such activities as well.”
Tamilvaanans father asked the audience to bless his son who is not married yet but is conducting the marriage of others in this way. “Being a cinema karan no one is giving him a bride,” he lamented. Bhagyaraj wished the director well and commended the efforts of the director and the producer D Dinesh Kumar for their noble gesture.
