Osthi, all set for release on December 8

Silambarasan starrer Osthi directed by Dharani is all set for a grand release on December 8. Reliance Entertainment has confirmed the news.

Earlier, there were reports that Tamil Nadu Film Exhibitors Association (TFEA) has put a red card on Osthi since the satellite rights of the movie were sold to Sun TV who had dues for their earlier ventures. However, a press report was released by few associations heads that neither of the associations had any issues with Osthi release. The press note was signed by SA Chandrasekar, Kalaipuli G Sekaran, Jayakumar, Abirami Ramanathan and Sathya Seelan.

Osthi is the remake of Salman Khan’s Dabangg that has Richa Gangopadhyay as STR love interest while Sonu Sood as baddie. Mallika Sherawat has sizzled for an item number Kalasala in the film.

Nassar joins Mugamoodi cast

Jeeva’s new super hero adventure film Mugamoodi to be directed by Mysskin will commence regular shoot from the second week of December in Chennai. Mugamoodi is being produced by UTV Motion Pictures on a grand scale.

Pooja Hedge is zeroed in for the leading lady role in the movie while Narain will play the negative lead in the film. Now, Nassar has joined the cast of Mugamoodi. The actor will be seen in a powerful cop role in the film. K is zeroed in to score the tunes for the film. Reports reveal Nassar is quite happy with the script and his role in the film.

Since it’s a superhero film, the makers have started working on Jeeva’s look in the film and they have roped in Hong Kong based technicians for the Super hero costumes design. Both Jeeva and the antagonist Narain had undergone Kung-fu training for three months for Mugamoodi.

Mugamoodi will hit the screens in 2012.

3 audio launch in mid December

After taking nation by storm with the Kolaveri Di song launch, the makers of 3 are planning to launch the entire 3 album in mid December. Actor Dhanush along with the music director Anirudh are promoting the film currently in Mumbai. Also, the mixing works for the other songs of 3 are being carried out in Mumbai studio.

Dhanush has also asked his fans on the micro-blogging site on who should release the 3 audio. “Mid December get ready for 3 audio launch. So guys, whom do you think should release the audio? How do u think the audio function should happen?," tweeted Dhanush.

3 is a romantic entertainer with Shruti Haasan as the leading lady. Aishwarya Dhanush is debuting as a director with this film. Kollywood grapevine is abuzz that the audio launch will be held on a grand scale.

Gemini Film Circuit out of Rajapattai

After the Sun Pictures has opted out of Vikram starrer Rajapattai from marketing the film, Gemini Film Circuit (GFC) now seemed to be backed out of the film, who was supposed to distribute the film.

Gemini Film Circuit has promoted Rajapattai with the ads till recently but it has discontinued it by bringing on the Uchithanai Muharnthaal in the same space and announcing the release date as December 16. Now, the latest buzz is PVP Cinemas will distribute Rajapattai worldwide.

Rajapattai directed by Suseenthiran is a commercial entertainer with ample action slated for a release on December 16. The audio will be launched on December 9. Rajapattai has Deeksha Seth as the leading lady.

Vettai single track launch on December 12

Director Lingusamy’s forthcoming film Vettai produced by UTV Motion Pictures is scheduled for a grand release for Pongal. Meanwhile, the makers are planning to launch the single track of Vettai scored by Yuvan Shankar Raja on December 12.

It was Yuvan who has led way to single album launch and yet again he continues it with Vettai. A peppy single number ‘Papparappa….’ from Vettai will be launched in an event on December 12 in Chennai.

The filmmakers are hoping that the song has the right potential of making it to chartbusters list. A video of this song will also be released that features Madhavan, Arya, Sameera, Amala, music director Yuvan, lyricist Na. Muthukumar and director Lingusamy. Later, the entire album of Vettai will hit the stands.

Harris Jayraj for Gautham Menon’s Neethane En Ponvasantham

Gautham Vasudev Menon and Harris Jayaraj are one of the finest combinations of Tamil cinema with 'Vaaranam Aayiram' being an example. However, the duo did not team up post 'Vaaranam Aayiram', both being busy with their films.

After almost a decade, the duo might come up together for Gautham Menon’s undershoot directorial 'Neethane En Ponvasantham' (NEP). Though AR Rahman was earlier zeroed in for scoring the music for the film, the busy music director is opting out of NEP due to his global commitments.

Kollywood grapevine is abuzz that Gautham is in plans to get Harris Jayraj on board for Neethane En Ponvasantham with Rahman expressing his inability due to busy schedules. Neethane En Ponvasantham is a trilingual being made simultaneously in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi versions with Jeeva, Nani and Aditya Raj Kapoor in the leads respectively. Samantha is playing the leading lady.

Nanban logo to beat 3 Idiots Logo

Whatever happens in the camp of director Shankar’s film will be instant headlines and every one are keen to know the status updates of the film.

Nanban with the top young heroes of Kollywood has turned out to be no exception. The latest update flowing out of the 'Nanban' camp is that Shankar has come out with a creative image for his film. The image more or less looked like a logo for the film and this image which brings Vijay, Jeeva and Srikanth in a unique look will surely be a hit with the movie goers.

Vijay took the central position the image while Jeeva and Srikanth are on his either sides. All the three stars have adorned a crown and decked in jewellery all inclusive of the 'kundalas' (ear rings), necklaces and vanky (for their biceps). To showcase a modern look they were given in T-shirts. In fact Shankar is planning to beat out the Bollywood image where the lead stars were seen sitting in specially customized chairs.

So, this image will surely waves in the tinsel town and director Shankar’s plan of making it is simply brilliant according to the taste of Tamil audiences.
