Sura Hits on 600 Screens worldwide
Ilayathalapathy Vijay is a happy man. His 50th Golden Jubilee film, Sun Pictures’ Sura is releasing big worldwide on April 30 in nearly 600 screens worldwide. The film directed by SP Raajakumar is said to be an “ideal breezy summer entertainer with all essential ingredients one would associate with a Vijay film”. Manisharma’s music is fast moving up the charts especially the number Thanjavur Jillakari…. In Chennai city, Sura is releasing in 16 screens, a new record in number of screens for a Vijay film. There is no opposition to the film, which will enable it to take an extraordinary opening.
Trisha celebrates Chennai Super Kings victory
On Sunday, when Chennai Super Kings (CSK) clashed with Mumbai Indians (MI) in the IPL finals in Mumbai, Trisha was in Hyderabad for an endorsement meet.
Trisha watched the entire match on television and was overjoyed when CSK won the tournament.
Trisha one of CSK’s biggest supporters was overjoyed and her first reaction was to send an sms to all her close friends- “CSK are the kings of IPL. Toooo Happyy.” She feels CSK won the IPL due to “Dhoni’s cool head, his captaincy and shrewd tactical moves”.
Trisha is very clear that she will continue to support CSK, and IPL is here to stay.
Meanwhile Trisha has also completed the promo song of her debut Hindi film Khatta Meeta in Mumbai. Says Trisha: “I’m looking forward to my film with Kamal sir and Madhavan, produced by Udhayanidhi Stalin and directed by KS Ravikumar”.
The buzz is that the film is going to be shot completely in Monte Carlo from June in a luxury cruise ship.

Vikram in Mumbai for Raavan audio launch
Vikram is in Mumbai for the audio launch of the biggest movie of the year, Mani Ratnam’s Raavan.
The music of the movie by Oscar winner AR Rahman has already made a presence on the net and is a runaway super hit.
Raavan, is the most anticipated album in recent times as Gulzar- Rahman- Mani is a deadly trio. Who can forget the foot stomping Chaiyya, Chaiyaa… from the trios earlier Dil Se?
The songs of Raavan have a earthy feel about it and Beera Beera…, Behne De… are sure going to be chartbusters. Audio industry trackers say that it is going to be the album of the year. Remember Mani sir- ARR music has never failed.

Even though she is one of the top stars in south Indian cinema, Nayanthara’s potential is yet untapped by Tamil film industry.
But like they say, you cannot hold back a good actor for long. In Kerala, Nayan had raked in accolades for her stupendous performance in Siddique directed Bodyguard which is now remade in Tamil with her bête noire Asin doing the lead role.

On 16th April 2010, the first look promo was uploaded on YouTube titled “music launch teaser”. From today, the promo of this movie will be available on YouTube. The songs will be aired on radio from 23rd April. After a long time, Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai are going to act together in a film. It will be interesting to see if they get good response from the audience.

Kutty Pisassu trailer launched
The Tamil Film Producers Council chief Ramanarayanan is coming out with an entertainer for children Kutty Pisassu, full of graphics and special effects. The film is produced and directed by the veteran himself and it will be his 120th film as a director.
The trailer launch of Kutty Pisassu took place at Sathyam Cinemas today (April 17) morning. The trailer was launched by directors Balachander and Bharathi Raja in the presence of Amirtham of Kalignar TV and director Shankar.
At the function Shankar praised Ramanarayanan and said: “Kutty Pisassu has awesome special effects and graphics using local talent. And summer is the ideal time to release the film”.
In the title role of Kutty Pisassu is baby Keerthika. The others in the cast include Ramji, Sangeetha, Ramya Krishnan, Kaveri, Nasir, Riyaz Khan, Delhi Ganesh and Alex.
The music for the film is by Deva and camera by K S Selvaraj.

Director Vasanthabalan and his producers Ayngaran International have become the toast of Kollywood following the release of their Angadi Theru.
The film has received critical acclaim from all quarters, including a word of praise and appreciation from the CPI (M), the workers party.
A CPI (M), spokesperson in Tamil Nadu said: “ Angadi Theru is a brilliant portrayal of the plight of thousands of youngsters from poor families who come to Chennai and are forced to work like slave labour by big textile and general appliances stores and live in a concentration camp like ghetto atmosphere where basic human rights are violated.”
The CPI (M) and their powerful trade union CITU have been trying desperately over the years to bring these downtrodden people under their union and give them a decent life by fighting for their fundamental rights.
The buzz is that CPI (M) General Secretary Prakash Karat who had his early education in the then Madras has shown in interest to watch Angadi Theru, which many feel is the most path breaking film to have come out of Kollywood dream factory in recent years.
The Tamil Nadu Progressive writers Artistes Association and the CITU went out of its way to organize a felicitation ceremony for Vasanthabalan . Noted new wave directors in Tamil cinema like Balaji Sakthivel, Sasi, Chimbu Devan, Radha Mohan, and Suhasini were present on the occasion to recognize the efforts taken by the gutsy director.

Mysskin and Cheran team up
After Anjathey and the unreleased Nandalala, people have been awaiting news about Mysskins next project.
Now his next film, Yuddham Sei, has been launched finally. The film went to the floors recently after a puja ceremony attended by well-wishers. The director teams up with another director, Cheran, who however sticks to acting and is playing the lead role.
Cheran plays a crime branch officer who leads a team of detectives. Produced by AGS Entertainment, new girl Deepa Shah has been introduced to the cast by Mysskin.
Myssikin and Cheran reportedly spent time observing CBI officers before giving finishing touches to the script. Cheran has reportedly lost a few kilos for the role to look the part. With two directors in one film, let’s see how the final product turns out!

The Sathyaraj, Shanthnoo, Sanaa Khan and Suman starrer Ayiram Vilakku has been witnessing a steady pace of shooting. Directed by S P Hosimin, the film is being produced by HMI Pictures.
Recently, a song picturisation was done in the natural scenic spots in Madurai. The highlight of the song is that it is written by Vairamuthu and sung by none other than KJ Jesudas.
The song, Enna Thavam Seidhen Ennei Pettha Magane..., is supposed to be an emotional one, bringing out the emotions in the relationship between a father and son.
The music is by Srikanth Deva and the filmmakers are confident about the success of the song with the audiences. The song is being likened to other hit numbers dealing with family ties like Poove Poochooda va, Amma enazhaikathe Uyir illaye and Pachchai Kiligal Thollodu.
With music playing an important role in any film’s success, let’s see if the winning combo and the unusual story make for a win at the box office.

Rambha marries Indiran at Tirupati
On Thursday (April 8) Rambha tied the knot with Canadian NRI businessman Indiran at Tirumala, the abode of Lord Venkateswara, in Tirupati.
After the marriage, the couple offered prayers in the temple and later left for Chennai.
About 500 invitees, mostly family members, arrived at Tirumala hills on Wednesday for the ‘muhurtam’, which was held between 1030 to 1145 hours .
But, the scheduled muhurtham was delayed for more than one hour due to late arrival of the bridegroom.
The marriage was performed in a grand manner at the Karnataka Guest House, and it remained a relatively low-key affair with invitations limited only to family members and close friends.
Stars from Tollywood and Kollywood, include actress Roja and her director husband RK Selvamani, choreographer Kala Master and the entire unit of the popular television dance reality show Manada Mayiladu, popular Telugu director Ragavendra Rao and a few industrialists and politicians graced the occasion.
The couple will hold a reception in Chennai on April 11, where prominent stars from Tollywood and Kollywood are expected to take part. Next day the newly married couple will leave for New Zealand for their honeymoon.

Vijay is playing Asin’s Kavalkaran (Bodyguard) in Siddique directed remake of the Malayalam hit Bodyguard.
The shoot of the film has started from Monday in Kumbakonam.
Once again Vijay has preferred to take an old super hit MGR- Jayalalitha film Kavalkaran (1967), as the title for his new film. After Vettaikkaran Vijay is using an MGR title again, as he believes that it has tremendous recall value among the masses.
However the title is appropriate as Vijay, a happy go lucky youth is appointed by Raj Kiran a local toughie to be his daughter Asin’s bodyguard when she goes to college. The enemies of Raj Kiran want to eliminate his daughter and our hero turns out to be her Kavalkaran!

The filmmaker is happy with Karthi and Tamanna’s performance and is all praises for their commitment and involvement. “Both are professionals. They dedicate themselves fully to work,” says Lingusamy.
A song “Suthudhey Suthudhey Boomi”, choreographed by Sabeena Khan, is expected to be one of the highlights of the movie. It was shot at Prasad Studios in Chennai, where a grand set was erected by art director Rajeevan.
However, thanks to computer graphics and visual effects, the background of the song will change to dense forests and lush mountain ranges, it is said. A rain song “Adada Mazhaida”, featuring Karthi andTamanna, was shot at the Athirappilly waterfalls recently.
As things are nearing completion and the film is ready to hit the screens, expect for some fireworks from Lingusamy.

"The Clash of the Titans" is set in the Greek city of Argos where a war is about to explode between man and the gods. Persesus (Sam Worthington) raised as a fisherman, but is actually a demi-god. Persesus is the bastard son of Zeus (Liam Neeson) who is about to take on the gods after the death of his family. Zeus' brother Hades (Ralph Fiennes) was the one who kill his family, and Persesus wants to kill him. However, it is Persesus' destiny to rescue the city of Argos from the ruthless rage of Hades and his Kraken monster. With nothing to lose, Persesus leads a band of soldiers on a quest to defeat the Kraken. In doing this, Persesus will prevent Hades from overthrowing Zeus and in turn destroying mankind.

And what more? Besides directing the movie, Lingusamy, one of the successful filmmakers of Tamil cinema, is also producing it.
It is expected that Karthi’s image will have a complete makeover after the movie. Confirming this, Lingusamy says, “”I am exploring the charming and handsome side of Karthi and that’s what you get to see in Paiya.”
“Paiya’ is an urban story and tells the interesting events happening in the lives of a pair of lovers (Karthi and Tamanna). Besides, Milind Soman and Sonia Deepti are playing pivotal roles. The movie was widely shot in Bangalore, Hyderabad and Mumbai.
On the movie, Lingusamy says, “It is a travelogue kind of action adventure. Karthi starts a journey from Bangalore to Mumbai along with Tamanna. The hurdles they face during their trip and how they overcome everything is ‘Paiya’.”
Elaborating more, he says, “the film is all about the protagonist meeting his love and hate on his journey. The action packed entertainer is being made in a different way with highways and travel as the backdrop.”

Marriage of Lakshmi Pranathi and Junior NTR was fixed on 28 January 2010 with an announcement that their engagement will be held in the last weak of February 2010 and their wedding may be expected in May 2010, but it is still not confirmed. Lakshmi Pranathi is daughter of StudioN channel chairman Narne Srinivas and Mallika, who is niece of TDP president N. Chandrababu Naidu. Lakshmi Pranathi is 18 years old and studying Intermediate Second Year, at Nazar Junior College of Hyderabad. Junior NTR is a well known Tollywood actor.
