Kandaen which stars Shanthanoo Bhagyaraj in the lead role is all set to hit the screens tomorrow. Kandaen features Rashmi as the female lead while Santhanam, Vijayakumar, Ashish Vidyarthi and Nimmi in the lead roles.

Kandaen is touted to be a racy comedy entertainer blend with all the necessary commercial elements like love, romance, comedy, action and sentiment. The special premiere show of Kandaen has been screened recently for the film fraternity and the entire team is happy with the final product. Actors Jaya Ravi, Vishnu, Ashwin Sekar, Aadith, Aadhi, Krish while Producer Kalaipuli S Dhanu, Dhananjayan, and Director SP Hosimin were spotted at the special show. Director Bhagyaraj and his wife Poornima were seen welcoming the guests of the evening. Director AC Mugil and the entire team is very much confident about the film’s success.

Vijay Ebenezer has scored the music for the film which has steadily topped the charts.

TCS of Sri Sivaselvanayakiamman Movies has produced eth film.

Eththan Movie Review

Eththan features Vimal and Sanusha in the lead roles is all set to hit the screens tomorrow.

After the stupendous success of Kalavani and Thoonga Nagaram, Vimal is coming up with Eththan, which he has powerful role. Eththan will be a feel-good story with humor. Eththan deals with a sensitive subject of today's reckless youth and Vimal is featured as a carefree youngster who lives life in his own way. The changes which make him turn good forms the crux of the story. The film was shot in 60 days and the story and the music of the film stand as highlighting factor.

Eththan is important film for Vimal, as he needs to strengthen his place as a small budget film superstar with a minimum guarantee profits.

Debutant director L Suresh has directed this film. Eththan brings the Kalavani duo actor Vimal and producer Nazir of Sherali Films, once again. Music is by Taj Noor.

Mankatha Single track releases today

The scenario seems like launching the single track albums is the current trend in Kollywood. It has been started with Vaanam single track release which turned out to be hit and filmmakers are now keen in releasing such single track albums.

Mankatha which stars Thala Ajith in the lead role will have its single track launch today.

Mumbai-based audio label Sony Music is introducing the single CD track, which will have the trailer song Vilayadu Mankatha….

Mankatha music director Yuvan said, “This is the very first track I have composed for Mankatha. This is what we do, and we do it the best! Here comes the single track! Vilaiyaadu Mankatha!”.

A spokesperson of Sony Music said “Just because of Thala, Mankatha has been able to create a buzz even before its release. We at Sony are very much confident about Mankatha and the youthful music of Yuvan Shankar Raja. The single track CD will be available at all audio stores from today and the CD will be attached with a poster personally autographed by Ajith himself.

The single track Vilayadu Mankatha… has been sung by Yuvan Shankar Raja, Ranjith, Premji Amaran, Anita and Sucharitha, a new talent introduced by Yuvan. This song has been shot at a club in Bangkok for four consecutive days. Interestingly the song has been crooned with three languages Tamil, Hindi and English. Yuvan has penned the English lyrics, his uncle Gangai Amaran has written Tamil part while the Hindi lines were provided by Sucharitha.

The buzz is that in coming more big ticket movies with popular music directors are going for a single-track launch, which will be a kind of a first look of the film.

The 58th National Film Awards brought the spotlight back on regional cinema with Malayalam film 'Adaminte Makan Abu', a simple yet evocative narrative of a man's pursuit of religion, winning best feature and its lead actor Salim Kumar picking up the best actor award.
The prestigious awards, which were announced here on Thursday, recognizes exemplary work in cinema. This year’s Feature Films jury was headed by JP Dutta, the Non-Feature Films jury by AK Bir and Best Writing on Cinema jury was headed by Ashok Vajpeyi.
Bollywood was pushed to the background this year with the Salman Khan starrer 'Dabangg' and Naseeruddin Shah-starrer 'Ishqiya' being the only two films to pick up awards in prominent categories. 'Dabangg' won the award for best popular film providing wholesome entertainment.
Singer Rekha Bhardwaj won the best female playback singer for her sensual rendering of folk-based lilting tracks in Hindi film ‘Ishqiya’. ‘Ishqiya’ also picked up best audiography.
Tamil actor Dhanush and Malayalam actor Salim Kumar shared the award for best actor. Dhanush and Salim were recognized for their work in 'Aadukalam' and 'Adaminde Makan Abu', respectively. The jury acknowledged the "two riveting performances that fuse character and actor into one" and praised Dhanush for his raw and nuanced portrayal of a cocky young man who learns lessons about life the hard way.
Mitalee Jagtap Varadkar and Saranya Ponvannan picked up their best actress national awards for the Marathi film 'Baboo Band Baaja' and Tamil feature 'Thenmerkku Paruvakkatru' respectively for their brilliant portrayal of two mothers concerned about bettering the lives of their children in the face of untold hardship.
Film veteran K Balachander who revived Tamil cinema in the 1970s, was chosen for the Dadasaheb Phalke Award for the year 2010.
Vetrimaran who directed the Tamil film 'Aadukalam' won best director (Feature) while Arunima Sharma picked up the award for Shyam Raat Seher (Hindi & Engish) in the Non-Feature category.
The Rajinikanth starrer 'Enthiran', the most expensive film made in India till date, won best production design. The kudos went to V Srinivas M Mohan of 'Enthiran' or 'Robot' that won an award for best special effects for "bringing of age a spectrum of visual special effects in Indian cinema and creating a space for the practitioners of this art form on the global map."
The Indira Gandhi award for best debut film of a director went to Marathi film - 'Baboo Band Baaja' - a riveting tale of a father reluctant to educate his son, a mother who fiercely believes in its liberatory value, and the son who is caught in the crossfire – and its director Rajesh Pinjani.
Director Goutam Ghose's Bengali film ‘Moner Manush’ won the Nargis Dutt award for best feature film on national integration. The film also won Vikram Gaikwad the best make-up artist award.
Best music direction went to 'Ishqiya' and 'Adaminte Makan Abu' with Vishal Bhardwaj and Issak Thomas Kottakapally directing the scores for the films respectively.
